My Teaching Philosophy

  • The goal is to help you build a golf swing that fits your body and physical limitations. Your swing will be different from mine — and that’s exactly how it should be. Together, we’ll create an efficient, repeatable, and optimized swing built specifically for you.

  • My goal is not to create dependence on lessons. My goal is to give you the tools and understanding needed to improve on your own. But improvement requires commitment — you must put in the work and dedicate time to practice.

  • My job is to provide a clear blueprint tailored to your swing, so you can self-manage, self-correct, and continue improving long after the lesson ends.

  • At the end of each lesson, I’ll give you drills and practice exercises to work on at home so you can continue building consistency and confidence between sessions.

FAQ

Q: Why is your hourly rate so low?

Unlike most instructors, golf instruction is not my full-time profession. I work as a technical recruiter in New York City and teach because I genuinely enjoy helping golfers improve.

Whether it's fixing a slice, eliminating a hook, or making more consistent contact, seeing students progress is rewarding. Because teaching is not my primary source of income, I can keep my rates affordable while still providing high-quality instruction.

My rates are intentionally set where they are, so I do not offer additional discounts.

Q: How can I trust that what you're teaching is correct?

My philosophy is simple: everyone has their own swing.

I don't believe in forcing students to swing like PGA Tour players if their body doesn't support it. Instead, I help golfers build an efficient, repeatable swing that works for their mobility, flexibility, strength, and athletic ability.

While fundamentals such as grip, clubface control, and impact conditions apply to everyone, how those fundamentals are achieved varies from player to player.

The goal isn't imitation—it's function.

Q: Do you offer any guarantees?

Yes. If you don't feel you improved or received value from your first lesson, you may request a refund for that lesson.

No pressure and no hard feelings. If you're not satisfied, I haven't done my job.

Q: I'm a scratch player. How can you make me better?

As handicaps get lower, improvement becomes more specific and measurable.

Areas we can focus on include:

  • Increasing clubhead speed
  • Improving short-game performance
  • Tightening putting distance control
  • Enhancing shot-shaping ability
  • Optimizing face-to-path relationships with launch monitor data
  • Identifying and eliminating scoring inefficiencies

Even elite players have tendencies. The goal is to make those tendencies more predictable under pressure.

Q: How good are you at golf?

You can follow my GHIN: 2599210.

That said, playing ability and teaching ability are different skills. Great instructors excel at identifying patterns, communicating concepts clearly, and helping students improve faster—not necessarily at being the best players themselves.

Many of America's top instructors are known more for their teaching expertise than their tournament accomplishments.
